State-of-the-art pyrotechnics were used to acquire action footage for episodes 2 and 3 of ARABIA FELIX - A History of Oman
The Malta shoot began with a series of action scenes that combined high speed filming and pyrotechnics. The filming took place at the Fort Ricasoli site, which is part of the Mediterranean Film Facilities on the island of Malta. Local talent was used to reenact the Portuguese attack on Qalhat in 1508 as well as the Machui shoot-out on October 19th, 1856 during the palace revolution on Zanzibar.
